buy one. get one free

Leather jacket: Zara. Faux fur vest: Forever 21. Boots: Topshop. Winter leggings: American Apparel. TShirt: Thrift Bag: Thrift DIY Studded. Black bracelet: Dog collar wrapped around wrist & Silver stud bracelet, skull rings: Random NY shops/street vendor

This must be my fave leather jacket since I reach for it the most. The cropped faux fur vest you have seen me wear before. I really like wearing it layered over leather, but I also like wearing it alone without a jacket like this post here.

The trick to wearing t-shirts now is to make sure they are layered underneath with thermals (ski thermals is another good one to try). Plus a scarf always helps (not pictured - it's the same old Love Quotes one). The black bracelet is actually a dog collar (no it's not used, Oliver has his own). I also like wrapping it around my boots sort of like this.

Ok so listen to this story: Not sure if you read my twitter last week, but my girlfriend bought these same thigh high Topshop boots worn in this post but after a month, hers never delivered. So she contacts Topshop who decides to mark it as lost and they refund her. A few days later, her boots arrived. So she has these boots too but for free!!

recent purchases

Some metal

Peep toe platforms to wear with knit tights and socks

Snake skin sling backs to wear with skinnies, shrunken leather jackets and messy hair

The Metal:

The jewellery (minus the bracelet) is courtesy of Fashionology. Thank you Rachel for the extras ; -)

The Platforms:

Love at first sight with these since they have the elements I like: The peeptoe. The platform. The retro shape. Will wear them with ankle socks or knit tights. They are from Forever 21. I got mine at the shop but you can find them here.

The Snake Skin sling backs:

My first ever Christian Louboutins! I posted on twitter that I went to their sample sale last week Friday. After a 1 to 2 hour wait in the queue I finally made it into the lift up to the magical 14th floor. The doors opened to shelves and shelves of boxed Loubs. After going through my size section in 5 minutes flat (I work fast - trust me), I didn't see anything. As I walked away I noticed a wall of boxes in no particular size grouping. That's when I spotted these snake skin sling backs with the silver metal heel. Perfect for nights out but even better during the day with skinny denims, leather leggings or fur.

ps. Thank you EVERYONE who has voted for me in my post below. I still can't believe it. The winner is announced next Tuesday so votes are still being taken until then, but I feel as if I've already won in not just being nominated (an honour in itself), but in having followed my gut and starting a fashion blog this year. For anyone reading this who's always thought 'I could do this,' just do it. Don't let anyone stop you and don't talk yourself out of it.

You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

score

Dress: H&M. Blazer: Silence & Noise. Boots: Jeffrey Campbell. Fedora: Trash & Vaudeville. Bag: Balenciaga. Rings: NY street vendor, LF.

I posted on twitter last week when I scored this ivory blazer reduced from about $88 to $15 at Urban Outfitters. An especially sweet deal since I have been looking for an ivory blazer since the summer. God am I glad that I waited! I went back the next day and scored ANOTHER one in mint. I finally wore it the other day when it was a bit warmer.

You guys know this ocean print dress from H&M: I wore it in the summer with the 'corset' Aldo wedges posted here. For anyone still mulling over the Jeffrey Campbell boots, get them. They are reeeeeally comfortable, true to size with just enough but not too much Creeper.

****OMFG BLOG NEWS ALERT!!! ****

I just found out TODAY that I'm one of 4 bloggers under consideration to be awarded a blog contract for a Swedish online fashion magazine (PLUS possibly attending Stockholm Fashion Week as a blogger. I submitted the blog on a whim last week and it's lead to this! OMG WTF!!!

The winner is chosen by votes only. Could you please CLICK HERE AND VOTE FOR ME? (On their site, scroll down to see the vote button). I'm the only British/New York blogger amongst those selected! Thank you! K x

swingers

Jacket: Topshop. Jeans: Uniqlo. Vest: Forever 21. Scarf (not seen) Love Quote. Fedora: Trash & Vaudeville. Boots: Jeffrey Campbell

Ever since I saw Kate's Topshop black fringe jacket released a couple of years ago I had always loved it. Fast forward to last week and I scoffed at the Topshops clearance sale coloured version. "It's not friggin' black" I muttered to myself and walked past it about three times while running up and down the 3 story shop.

Then I decided to try it on and I was sold.

It's not black. It's not Kate's but I actually kinda like the ombre version. I can't WAIT to wear it with the long grey dress worn here for the 'Alien Behaviour' post, plus with vintage dresses, jeans, minis. All sorts really.

The Elvis shoes are still my next fave flat boots besides the All Saints. Speaking of boots, I added a couple more shoes to the online shop tonight. I'll see if I can keep it updated daily. Clothes soon after. Promise!

angels and demons

Dress: Topshop. Jacket & Boots: Zara. Bag: Thrift. Rings: street vendors

Left work early today to get ready to go out for a customer Christmas dinner. I wore this Topshop dress that I fell in love with the moment I saw it. Looks a bit like an old fashioned wedding dress hacked short or something a bit vintagey.

I wore it with the trashy glam bag I found at the thrift shop on Saturday for $2. Its furry so feels cosey when it brushes on skin. I've already been caught um....petting it. The Zara boots you know already.

ps. LOVED the images on the walls in the pictures. The sharp teeth everywhere looked so demonic and cool. New York has SICK graffiti.

one man's trash...

I took this mens wool blazer:

If only this toggle coat was a couple of sizes smaller...

I fell in love with this furry animal print hand held bag. Perfect trash glam.

Skull jumper: Trash & Vaudeville. Crochet dress: H&M. Leggings: American Apparel. Shoes: ASH. Fedora: Trash & Vaudeville. Chain strap bag: Boutique lower east side.

So yesterday was a drizzly grey day so what do I do? Throw on anything and go shopping at a local thrift shop for some bargains. I wore my crochet dress under a jumper for added length and girlyness (is that a word?). I posted wearing it here during the summer.

The wedges are from ASH (bought on sale) and is another item to cross off the 'current obsession' post I did here. They're not like Mary Kate's in that post, but the platform wedge is there so it'll do. I found these here but I would need a 41 I'm sure.

PS. Speaking of shopping, my shop is now open!! Click on the black shopping bag on the left. As a thank you, I am offering a permanent 10% off to all those following my blog via Blog Lovin'. To those wanting the discount, just click on the 'follow' icon/button to become a follower and receive the discount. (Please read details on the SHOP blog).

pps. Only a few shoes have been added but clothes, coats and bags will follow over the next few days.

sharp intake of breath

Source: Mykromag

Shoes designed by Louise Goldin for Topshop.

When these are released, I cannot even begin to tell you how much I want the first or the last pair.

ps. It's crappy London-like weather outside today: wet, drizzly and overcast. What's everyone up to today?
